Denver weather reports and daily highs since 2020
Each row is one METAR or SPECI weather report from Denver (KDEN), since January 2020, via Iowa Environmental Mesonet. 67,933 reports of temperature, wind, pressure, visibility with the day's official NWS high and low.
Coverage
- Window: 2020-01-01 to the most recent completed day, refreshed each morning after the National Weather Service issues its daily climate report. Report times are UTC; the calendar date is on Mountain Standard Time (UTC-7) all year, no daylight saving shift, matching the day the official high and low cover.
- Grain: one row per report; 2,443 days from 2020-01-01 to 2026-09-08 at the first build. Routine METAR reports arrive about hourly; special SPECI reports arrive when conditions change. A typical month holds 750 to 917 rows.
- Cadence: one new day of reports each morning; the official high and low land on that day's rows once published, usually the next morning.
- Station: Denver International Airport, ICAO code KDEN, the station whose reports settle daily temperature questions for Denver.

Missing values
Absent fields are null, never zero. A trace of precipitation is null. Sky layers beyond those reported are null. The official high and low are null on the most recent day until the National Weather Service issues its report, and on the rare day no report was archived. The derived daily range is null only on a day with no parsable temperature.
Suitable for
- Comparing the official daily high with the highest hourly report on the same day. They agree on 710 of 2,443 days; the hourly maximum sits below the official high on 1,723 days and above it on 10, because the official value is a continuous maximum and the reports are point readings.
- Reconstructing Denver conditions at any hour since 2020.
- Building daily temperature, wind and precipitation series for Denver International Airport.
- Checking what KDEN reported around a settlement time or a forecast.
