• Monthly table window: January 2019 to August 2026, 92 months.
• Monthly table grain: one row per month, industry, direction (pickup or drop-off) and taxi zone, 140,231 rows.
• Cadence: TLC posts each month of trip records about two months after it ends. The monthly table is re-read weekly. The hourly table gains each new month when TLC posts its file.
• Places: the 262 NYC taxi zones across the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island, plus Newark Airport (EWR), an unknown-location code (264) and an outside-NYC code (265).

• company: the high-volume for-hire company, Uber or Lyft (Juno and Via appear only in older TLC data).
• license_number: the TLC high-volume license, HV0003 for Uber and HV0005 for Lyft.
• pickup_date, pickup_hour: the local New York calendar day and hour, 0 to 23, when the trips began.
• pickup_zone_id, borough, zone_name: the TLC taxi zone where the trips began and its borough and name.
• trips, shared_trips: the number of trips, and how many of them were matched shared rides.
• trip_miles_total, trip_miles_avg: total and average trip distance in miles.
• trip_minutes_total, trip_minutes_avg: total and average trip time in minutes.
• base_fare_total_usd, base_fare_avg_usd: total and average base passenger fare in US dollars, before taxes, tolls, surcharges and tips.
• tips_total_usd, driver_pay_total_usd: total tips and total driver pay excluding tips, in US dollars.
• Monthly table: month, industry (FHV - High Volume, Yellow Taxi or Green Cab), direction, zone_id, borough, zone_name and trips.

A zone, hour and company with no trips has no row rather than a zero. Fare, distance and pay totals are empty only where TLC left every underlying trip value blank.
