Movies with plot summaries and ratings since 1887

• Window: primary release dates from 1887-08-18 to 2026-09-24, as dates with no time zone.
• Grain: one row per movie per primary release date, keyed by release_date and id.
• Cadence: a full snapshot of the catalogue, built on 2026-09-24.
• Scope: TMDB Discover with adult titles and video-only titles excluded. Movies with no release date are not listed.

• release_date: the movie's primary release date as TMDB records it.
• id: TMDB's numeric movie identifier.
• title: the English title where TMDB has one.
• original_title: the title in the movie's original language.
• original_language: the ISO 639-1 code of the original language.
• overview: TMDB's short English plot summary.
• genres: up to five TMDB genres, comma-separated, in TMDB's order.
• popularity: TMDB's popularity score when the movie's month was fetched.
• vote_average: the average TMDB user rating, from 0 to 10.
• vote_count: the number of TMDB users who rated the movie.
• poster_url, backdrop_url: links to the poster and backdrop images on TMDB's image server.
• adult: whether TMDB marks the title as adult.
• video: whether TMDB marks the entry as a video title.

Empty text fields are null. In a sample of 2020 releases, about one movie in eight has no overview or poster, and about one in four has no genres.
